In-reply-to > @prologic I made a quick PDF with my POV on the Reply button. Please feel free to ignore it, ask for more info, explain why I'm crazy 🤪, etc.

@lyse They are there of course, but in the case of the “Conversation view” they are hidden input fields. This is so you don’t accidently reply to the wrong conversation of course 😅 But I do agree we need to improve the UX of course! 😂 Make it a bit more obvious what’s going on…

@prologic it would be nice to keep it consistent. I am all for removing the subject (hash) from the post box, and having it always be a hidden input field. It makes sense even more so now, with the latest changes to the reply/fork interface, in which the post box ‘follows’ the twt that’s being replied.

@fastidious That would also be more aligned with omitting the hash at the display level. But it has the danger of drifting off from the raw format too much. At least techies who know the specs could get confused if the subject hash is not part of the entered text anymore. The non-techies would probably benefit, though. On the other hand, techies tend to adopt quicker. Just my two cents on that.

@lyse yes, I understand, and those $0.02 are duly noted. The hash is still visible, though, on the lower right corner of the twt, so not really removing it completely. Not having it on the post box will eliminate confusion for non-techies, and be less prone to accidental deletions or changes. It is also cleaner and more consistent.

Let’s see what the Yarn’s Head Honcho has to say about this. :-)

@fastidious I had to laugh when reading “Yarn’s Head Honcho”. We should make this the official address. :-)
